I hope this newsletter finds you doing well, healthy and
with some good running/racing under your belt for 2009. The
summer was really not bad for running considering the cool temps and
lack of humidity like we are used to. All the same fall running
is my favorite with the changing season and crisp mornings.
My website has a new look, check it out by
clicking on the Trekman logo above.
2009 was a great
year for Trekman racing and of course you are a part of that having
entered a Trekman event or one I worked. Race numbers were up and
I am grateful for that. Running seems to be bucking the poor
economy and perhaps it is because our sport offers wonderful benefits
for the money spent. Stress reduction, pounds lost and positive
social experiences all contribute in my estimation.
The most
exciting news was the Park to Park half marathon (13.1 miles) posting
545 finishers this year. There were 119 Iowa communities
represented and 15 states. The weather was perfect and there were
some spectacular performances.
Donations from
Trekman events over the past year were made to the Salvation Army, The
Black Hawk County Family & Children's Council, the Cedar Trails
Partnership and the Hudson Athletic Booster Club.
Read on and see
what is coming up! Feel free to contact me with any ideas you
have.

Join the Trekman Race Crew for a laid back race that is
not about speed but about fun! The park will be filled with
Christmas music while Santa and his helper elf look for all the good
runners and walkers to hand presents out. Several raging fires,
free coffee and hot chocolate will be ready to help keep you
warm. Every entrant will receive a set of bells to pin to your
clothing so you can jingle your way to the finish.
Snow and cold
will not deter us, only ice and dangerous wind chills can do
that. The distance is dependent on weather conditions but is
always around 3 miles.
CLICK ON THE
RACE LOGO TO GO TO MY WEBSITE WHERE YOU CAN DOWNLOAD AN ENTRY
FORM. EARLY ENTRY ENDS THIS WEEK.
