HOW DID EVERYONE DO?

GROUP TRAINING INFO

Group training spots are open for people wishing to get coaching, support and have additional training fun for either Park to Park or the Chicago Marathon.  Don't wait too long if you need to build up a base for either one.  The Chicago Marathon will fill up likely in early April so sign up soon if you intend to run it.  Links for training groups are below and people have already signed up!

Fools 5k sets record for participants

March 28TH 2009

Greetings!

Fox river     Crisp but dry weather greeted a record number of finishers (365) to the FOOLS finish line arch.  A few hours later and we would have had a wet snow to contend with, but alas we stayed dry and had a good time.

Results can be found using the link provided in this update.

Thanks to everyone who participated, volunteered or sponsored the race.  A special thank you goes to those who donated to the State Park Fund to rebuild the Lodge and to FOX RIVER sock company for donating socks for those who gave $10 or more to the park fund.

Next weekend is the St. Patricks Shamrock Shuffle 5K and we will be helping.  Free pancakes after the race, hope to see you there!

 StopwatchTIMING

Our first use of the new timing system was a success thanks to a great group of volunteers and my wife, Tamara, who did a super job for the first time ever using the system!

Handing out receipts to folks was a big hit and will be a feature of all Trekman events.  As we learn the ins-and-outs of the system we will get faster each time.

Thank you Amanda Vanous for sitting out in the cold for so long handing out slips!

Final numbers are not in yet but we believe we have raised enough to fix everything needed to get the Park Lodge open by Memorial Day.

Park manager Lori Eberhard spent the morning with us and was impressed with everyone she came into contact with.  She is excited to get the projects going and bring the park closer to its pre-flood glory.

Thanks again to all of you who donated, you are a generous bunch!  FOX RIVER socks - you are the best!

It is not too late to donate, a link to do so is at the bottom left...
